Fatal Head-on Accident in Rowan County, North Carolina
ROWAN COUNTY, NC - A news report posted on wsoctv.com states that North Carolina State Highway Troopers are currently investigating a head-on accident in Rowan County that tragically killed one and injured four other people.*
The fatal accident occurred at approximately 3:15 PM along Lentz Road by Highway 29 in Rowan County, North Carolina. The report states that a car was traveling northbound, approached a curve, crossed the road's centerline, and crashed head-on with the pick-up truck. After the collision, the car left the road and crashed into an embankment.
According to law enforcement authorities, the car's driver died at the scene, and one of the car's passengers was thrown from the vehicle and was airlifted to a local area hospital. The car's third passenger, the truck's driver and passenger were also transported to a local area hospital for medical treatment.
The road was closed to conduct an investigation. The names of the accident victims were not made public.
