Fatal Car Accident in Murray County, Georgia
GEORGIA - An online accident news report published on yahoo.com states that one person was tragically killed in a car accident in Murray County.*
Four other people involved in the motor vehicle crash were injured in the two-car rollover accident at the Gordon County/Murray County line. According to emergency officials, one child and one adult were transported to AdventHealth Gordon. Three other children involved in the motor vehicle crash were transported by Life Force air ambulance and air medical transport to the Children's Hospital at Erlanger. Three helicopters were called to the fatal accident scene.
At 5:49 PM, the Georgia State Patrol (Post 43 in Calhoun) answered the motor vehicle accident emergency call. The Georgia State Patrol stated that their preliminary accident investigation shows that a minivan heading north on Old Highway 411 did not stop at a stop sign causing the minivan to be hit on its passenger side. The crash caused the vehicles to leave the roadway and crash.
The Georgia State Patrol's Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is helping with the accident investigation.
AdventHealth Gordon Emergency Medical Services, Murray County fire department stations 1, 2, and 5, and Gordon County Fire Rescue units all responded to the crash. The Gordon County Fire Rescue set up a landing zone for the helicopters at the intersection of Highway 136 and Old Highway 411 in Gordon County.
