Personal Injury Lawyers Montlick & Associates Shares Important Information with Parents Regarding Warning Signs of Bullying.

Bullying is repetitive, aggressive behavior that is intentional and involves an imbalance of power or strength. According to the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, close to half of all children experience bullying at some point while they are at primary or secondary school, and at least ten percent of children are bullied on a regular basis. This bullying comes in many forms: it can be physical, mental, verbal, emotional - or even through texting or the internet. In whatever form, the effects can be psychologically devastating and can lead to depression, self harm, and even death.

Parents and school officials can play a key role in preventing and stopping bullying. However many bullying victims do not notify their parents because they are ashamed or frightened. In the video posted above, the firm's Family Safety Advocate shares important information to help parents recognize the many warning signs, and understand what to do should their child become a victim of bullying. For additional information on how to recognize and respond to bullying incidents, please download the firm's Parent's Guide to Bully Prevention.
