Important Safety Tips for Seniors, presented by Atlanta/ Georgia Injury Lawyers, Montlick & Associates

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) nearly one and a half million adults ages 65 and older visited emergency rooms last year with home-related injuries.  Falls are the leading cause of unintentional injuries at home among adults 65 and older. Common accidents include falling and tripping on stairs, in bath tubs, off ladders and step stools, over pets and household appliance cords. The good news is that you can help reduce the risk of falls by following a few safety precautions in and around your home. Simple things like keeping all stairs and walkways cleared of obstacles, using non-skid rugs and floor mats, and installing grab bars in baths and showers can all help prevent falls and unintentional injuries.

Georgia Injury Lawyers Montlick & Associates is committed to helping prevent accidental injuries. Watch the video above as our Family Safety Advocate presents important safety tips for seniors in the ABC News segment.  Additionally, Montlick & Associates has created an Injury Prevention Safety Guide for Seniors that list additional ways you can take to stay healthy and injury free.
