Georgia Auto Accident Lawyers Montlick & Associates Reminds Drivers That Wearing Seat Belts is the Most Effective Way to Prevent Injuries and Save Lives in the Event of an Automobile Accident.
New evidence that seat belts do save lives is presented in the video above by Judge Gary E. Jackson of the Atlanta Municipal Court. Judge Jackson presides over traffic cases and has recently started tracking the number of cases that come into his courtroom in which drivers were involved in serious car accidents, their vehicles totaled, and who walked away injury free because they were wearing seatbelts. Judge Jackson's research is based on a two-month period in one of the eight traffic court rooms in the Atlanta Municipal Courthouse. Projections based on the statistics of this single courtroom suggest that every year, thousands of Georgia drivers who become involved in serious car, truck or tractor trailer accidents are protected from catastrophic injury and even wrongful death in a motor vehicle collision because of wearing seat belts.
The Auto Accident Lawyers at Montlick and Associates continue to publicize this safety information in an effort to reduce the number of these fatalities and serious injuries in Georgia and throughout the Southeast. As a reminder to all drivers and passengers, the law in Georgia requires that Adults ages 18 years and older must wear a seat belt when driving or riding in the front seat or front passenger seat of a passenger motor vehicle. Persons 6 through 17 year are required to be restrained in a safety belt in all seating positions within the vehicle. Passengers under age 6 are required to be in an age and weight appropriate child restraint or booster seat.
