David Montlick founded Montlick Injury Attorneys in 1984 to create a different kind of personal injury law firm, one that paired exceptional legal representation with a standard of care that puts people first. More than four decades later, as Founder and Chief Executive Officer, he continues to lead the firm while supporting a team of attorneys who share that same commitment.
While David knew from an early age that he wanted to devote his life to helping people, it was several years later, at Emory University School of Law, that he discovered his purpose in life. As a law clerk at other firms, he quickly recognized a gap in how law firms served their clients. He wanted to create a firm rooted in principles of honesty, loyalty, and integrity, structured to give clients unobstructed access to their attorneys and supported by quality-control and client-service practices built around what he believed should be the gold standard in personalized service.
That vision of building a truly caring personal injury law firm soon became a reality. After practicing on his own for two years, David founded Montlick with two very specific goals in mind: to give injured people high-quality legal help and outstanding client care, and to give back to the community in a really meaningful way. David constantly asked himself and others, “How would you want to be treated if you were the client?” That question has remained a key guiding principle for the firm ever since.
David is a hardworking, empathetic person who believes in treating everyone with kindness and respect. Those core values took shape early in life. At just nine years old, he began working in his father’s furniture store. Watching his dad up close, he saw the genuine attention and care his father gave, and how much people appreciated outstanding service. It was a lesson that stuck with him. Whether loading trucks, sweeping floors, making deliveries, or helping customers, he developed a strong work ethic and an appreciation for every individual that continue to influence his leadership and approach to client service today.
David continues to shape the firm’s direction, working closely with its leadership team to uphold the values of service, integrity, and client care that define Montlick. He is especially proud of the amazing team of people who have helped build the firm and of seeing a new generation follow their parents into the Montlick family. Several children of longtime team members have gone on to become attorneys at Montlick with their own passion for helping others.
Giving back has always been central to David’s vision for the firm. Since its founding, he has led and supported numerous public service initiatives focused on highway safety, injury prevention, supporting members of the military and their families, and recognizing people who make a positive impact throughout Georgia.
Numerous recognitions and awards from both the public and private sectors reflect David’s commitment to helping others. He received the Association of the United States Army’s Patriotism Award for his support of military members and their families. As the founding sponsor of the A4K Club, a national anti-bullying organization, David was also recognized by the Georgia House of Representatives through House Resolution 394. The resolution cited his significant organizational and leadership talents, vision, diplomacy, and sensitivity to the needs of Georgia citizens.
On a personal level, David spent many years volunteering with a local humane society alongside his youngest daughter. He holds a third-degree black belt and is a two-time state champion with two Top Ten World Rankings. As a certified instructor, he volunteered to teach more than 2,000 martial arts classes to children and adults. Through those classes, he has sought to pass on not only self-defense skills, but also the values of honor, integrity, respect, confidence, self-control, and perseverance.
Whether leading the firm, volunteering his time and expertise, or simply lending a hand to a grass-roots organization or a person in need, David is always there with a warm smile and willingness to help. Above all, he considers himself a family man, eager to spend time at home with his wife, two daughters, and the family’s three energetic pups.
