Two People Tragically Killed in a Wrong-Way Driver Accident in Irving, Texas
IRVING, TX - A fatal accident news report on cbslocal.com states that two people have been tragically killed in a motor vehicle accident that police say was caused by a wrong-way driver in Irving, Texas.*
Irving Police stated that the accident occurred in the 2300 section of State Highway 161. The at-fault driver was driving northbound in the southbound lanes causing a severe head-on accident.
According to the Irving Police, the wrong-way driver was identified as a 23-year-old woman.
She purportedly collided with a motor vehicle that had three occupants and a dog inside. The two occupants in the victim's vehicle, identified as a 21-year-old woman and a 19-year-old woman, were both tragically pronounced deceased at the accident scene, as well as the dog. The driver, a 21-year-old man, is currently in critical medical condition, according to Irving Police.
The wrong-way driver was transported to a local area hospital with severe injuries. She is expected to be arrested and criminally charged with one count of intoxication assault and two counts of intoxication manslaughter.
