Kimberly L. Jacobsen is a highly experienced Quality Control Attorney who has been practicing law since 2002. She is licensed to practice in Georgia, including the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia and brings more than two decades of personal injury experience to her practice. She is known for her meticulous attention to detail and her ability to guide clients through the complex issues that often arise throughout the life of a case.
Kim has been part of Montlick since 1995, giving her one of the longest and most comprehensive tenures at the firm. She began her Montlick career as a paralegal and law clerk and has always valued the firm’s client-focused mission and collaborative environment, where attorneys and staff work together to achieve positive results for injured people. After earning her law degree, she transitioned into her role as attorney with a deep understanding of both the legal process and the human needs at the center of every case.
Throughout her career, Kim has handled all aspects of personal injury cases—from early investigation and client communication to negotiations and post-settlement matters—giving her a well-rounded understanding of what clients need at every stage of the process. She now serves as the firm’s Quality Control Attorney, working closely with managing attorneys to ensure that case timelines, statutory deadlines, lien negotiations, and post-settlement matters are handled accurately and efficiently. Her detail-oriented approach is especially valued when clients need clear guidance on complex or time-sensitive issues.
As a fierce advocate, Kim cares deeply about her clients and securing the results they deserve. She treats every client like a member of her family, with compassion, dignity and respect. Kim works tirelessly not only to achieve strong legal outcomes, but also to ease the stress clients often face during very difficult times. She strives to practice law with genuine kindness, knowing that small acts of kindness and words of encouragement can make someone’s day.
Kim was inspired to become a lawyer after witnessing how powerful corporations can take advantage of individuals without similar resources. She views the privilege of practicing law as an opportunity to help others. Her approach is grounded in compassion, patience, fairness, and the belief that even small acts of kindness can have lasting impact.
Originally from Michigan, Kim moved to the Atlanta area in 1995 and has called Georgia home ever since. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan before completing her Juris Doctor at Georgia State University College of Law.
In 2016, Kim was appointed by the Georgia Supreme Court to mentor newly admitted lawyers through the State Bar of Georgia’s Transition into Law Practice Program, and she also supports nonprofit organizations focused on children’s health, wildlife preservation, and cancer research.
Outside the office, Kim enjoys dancing, gardening, photography, and staying active through running, golfing, and swimming. A formally trained dancer, she finds joy in movement and music—bringing the discipline and creativity she learned through dance into her professional life. An avid sports fan, she follows everything from her nieces’ and nephews’ games to major collegiate and professional athletics, and she always cheers the loudest for her beloved Michigan Wolverines. Kim and her husband also share a love of travel.
At Montlick, Kim brings the same compassion and clarity to her work that she values in her personal life, helping clients navigate the legal process with confidence.
