Scott Patterson, Esq., Managing Attorney at Montlick Injury Attorneys, is a seasoned negotiator and litigator, licensed to practice in all Georgia state and federal courts, and able to assist clients in all types of personal injury cases both in Georgia and nationwide. With over two decades of legal experience, Scott has devoted his career to advocating for individuals who have suffered harm due to the negligence of others.
A native of Northern Virginia, Scott earned his Bachelor of Arts in Government and Sociology from The College of William and Mary in 1993. He later moved to Atlanta and graduated cum laude from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University in 1999. While at Mercer, he was a member of the Brainerd Currie Honor Society and served on the Mercer Law Review.
Scott began his legal career at King & Spalding, gaining valuable experience in complex litigation. He then transitioned to insurance defense, where he developed a deep understanding of how insurance companies evaluate and manage claims. In 2005, he founded his own law firm, focusing on criminal defense and personal injury matters. After more than 17 years as a solo practitioner—and a brief tenure as Chief Operating Officer and Legal Counsel for a startup, Scott joined Montlick in 2022 and was named Managing Attorney in 2024.
Scott was drawn to Montlick by its collegial environment and shared commitment to putting clients first. His diverse legal background, from large law firms to in-house counsel to solo practice, equips him with a broad and nuanced perspective. As Managing Attorney, he works closely with Montlick’s leadership team to ensure every case is handled with the highest standards of legal excellence, ethical care, and client-focused professionalism. He also oversees the firm’s network of co-counsel attorneys, ensuring they meet Montlick’s rigorous standards.
Known for his empathy, strategic insight, and unwavering commitment to justice, Scott approaches each case with a client-centered mindset. He reminds opposing counsel and insurance adjusters that his clients are more than just case files—they are people who deserve respect, dignity, and closure. His core values—kindness, fairness, integrity, and respect—are evident in every interaction.
Scott has called the Atlanta area home for over 30 years and he currently lives in Marietta with his wife and daughter, where he enjoys hiking, biking, and supporting his daughter’s soccer pursuits. He is an active member of the Marietta Blue Devil Soccer Goal Club, supporting both the Marietta High School and Middle School soccer programs. Since 2024, he has also served as the announcer for the Marietta High School Varsity boys’ and girls’ soccer games, blending his love for the sport with a strong sense of community involvement—and a touch of humor. His deep roots in the community and commitment to service reflect the same dedication he brings to his legal practice.
