Mike Moran is a skilled and accomplished personal injury litigator with more than twenty years of legal experience. Licensed in Georgia since 2004 and also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia, he brings a seasoned perspective to complex injury claims and the judgment to identify issues others may overlook.
Since joining Montlick in 2002, Mike has argued cases in Georgia state and federal courts and brings an informed understanding of how personal injury cases are evaluated, defended, and resolved. He is especially drawn to cases that demand a closer examination of the facts, taking on claims that were initially denied by insurance companies or declined by other law firms, digging into the evidence to find a viable path forward where others saw a dead end. As a strong litigator and skilled negotiator, his ability to assess complicated claims, explain the practical considerations involved, and prepare a case for settlement or trial reflects the judgment he has developed over decades of practice.
Mike enjoys the fact that the majority of his clients today are drawn from past clients he has had the pleasure of working for over the past 20 years or from their family and friends. He regards those return clients and their referrals of those closest to them as the highest compliment he can be awarded.
His commitment to personal injury law began with an experience in his own family. After his sister was seriously injured by an inattentive driver, Mike watched as she struggled to be treated fairly by the insurance company handling her claim. Seeing someone he loves caught in a process that felt stacked against her is why he dedicated his career to fighting for justice for people injured and suffering due to someone else’s negligence.
Mike takes great pride in representing his clients with compassion, care, and understanding, and clients value his direct, candid approach. He believes people deserve an honest assessment of the strengths and challenges of their case and a clear sense of what may come next. By explaining legal issues in straightforward terms, Mike helps guide clients through the legal process while keeping expectations grounded in the facts.
A native of Scranton, Pennsylvania, Mike earned his Bachelor of Science in Sociology from East Stroudsburg University and his Juris Doctor from New York Law School in 2000. While in law school, he worked for New York City’s Office of the Corporation Counsel, helping defend the city against negligence actions. That early experience gave Mike a valuable window into the defense world and helps him anticipate how insurers evaluate and defend cases, insight he now uses to litigate for his injured clients.
Outside the office, Mike enjoys spending time with his wife, Kim, and their sons, Mychal and Quinn. He has volunteered as a coach for his sons’ baseball and basketball teams and has participated in Montlick’s Safe Teen Driver Academy and other driver-safety programs. When he is attending one of his son’s games, he can often be found taking walks with his wife and their three dogs.
