Meighan Vargas has been advocating for clients since 2011, bringing more than a decade of trial and litigation experience to her personal injury practice at Montlick. She began her legal career working on catastrophic injury cases before serving as both a criminal defense attorney and later a prosecutor, where she gained extensive courtroom experience and successfully resolved a wide range of cases through both skilled negotiation and effective trial advocacy. Meighan earned her Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law in 2010, graduating cum laude in the Honors Program, after completing her Master of Science at Bocconi University in 2002 and her Bachelor of Arts at the University of Tennessee in 2000, where she graduated magna cum laude.
At Montlick, Meighan combines that litigation background with a compassionate, client-centered approach. She is known for guiding clients through every step of the recovery process, with integrity, always striving to deliver positive outcomes. Her tenacity and creativity often make the difference in complex cases. In recent cases, Meighan has turned insurance company denials into six-figure recoveries and secured full insurance policy limits settlements, helping her clients move forward and get the justice they deserve. For Meighan, these results are not just about compensation—they are about restoring dignity, stability, and peace of mind.
Her passion for the law is deeply rooted in her upbringing. Raised in a military family, Meighan grew up moving often and experiencing diverse cultures. This gave her resilience, adaptability, and a strong sense of service—qualities that continue to define her work today. Inspired by her parents’ example of professionalism and community service, she chose law as a way to serve others with integrity and honesty. Guided by values of diligence and integrity, she finds meaning in her ability to help clients face challenges head-on. A favorite quote by James Baldwin captures her philosophy: “Not everything that is faced can be changed. But nothing can be changed until it is faced.”
Beyond her work with clients, Meighan is an active contributor to the legal community through her local bar association. She has served as a presenter and instructor for the Georgia Gang Investigators Association, as well as for local police academies and citizens’ academies. She was also selected for the Georgia Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division Leadership Academy and the Bill Daniels Trial Institute, honors that reflects her professional leadership and commitment to growth.
Fluent in Spanish and Italian, and proficient in French and Portuguese, Meighan is able to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds and ensure they feel heard and understood.
Meighan enjoys traveling, playing soccer, and spending time with her family. She also loves playing with her beloved pets – Rhyce, a playful rescue kitten and Beans, a tiny Chihuahua mix rescue with a giant personality.
