Emily Akbarshahi, Esq. is a Georgia personal injury attorney known for her courtroom experience, strategic thinking, and compassionate advocacy. Licensed to practice law since 2021, she joined Montlick in 2025 after building a diverse background in both criminal defense and personal injury law. Emily brings a strong foundation in trial work and extensive negotiation experience, coupled with a commitment to guiding injured individuals through some of the most challenging times in their lives.
Emily began her career in criminal defense, handling motions, hearings, and complex case resolutions across Georgia’s courts. That experience sharpened her strategic instincts and taught her how to identify key evidence, craft persuasive arguments, and determine the best path—settlement or litigation—to achieve successful results for her clients.
Now focused exclusively on personal injury law, Emily is dedicated to helping people rebuild their lives after serious accidents. She has successfully resolved numerous injury cases and draws on her experience negotiating with insurance companies to pursue fair compensation for her clients. Having personally experienced the challenges of recovering from car accidents, Emily understands the physical and emotional toll an injury can take. Her empathy and determination drive her to ensure every injury—no matter how complex or unseen—is fully recognized and properly valued.
A Georgia native, Emily earned her undergraduate degree from Georgia State University and her law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where she received the CALI Award for Race and Class in American Public Education and the Roberts Senior Class Writing Award for excellence in legal scholarship.
Emily lives in Gwinnett County, where she volunteers with the Gwinnett Humane Society. She is fluent in Farsi and proud to serve Georgia’s diverse communities with understanding and compassion. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, traveling, cooking, and spending time with her family. Her family shares a strong commitment to service—her two sisters are physicians—and together they embody a shared passion for helping others. At Montlick, Emily brings that same sense of purpose and care to every client she represents.
