Highway Patrol Responds to Crash on Liberty Hwy in Anderson County, South Carolina

ANDERSON COUNTY, SC. – According to an online news article reported at foxcarolina.com, South Carolina Highway Patrol Troopers responded to a vehicle crash on Liberty Highway in Anderson County, South Carolina. Injuries were reported to have occurred as a result of the collision, but little information about the accident itself was released to the media at the time.*

The accident happened in the afternoon at the crossing of Ruhamah Road and Liberty Highway. South Carolina Highway Patrol and Fox Carolina report that shortly before 1 p.m., emergency crews responded to the site of a traffic collision in the area. The report did not say how many vehicles were involved in the crash or what kinds of vehicles collided. No vehicle makes or models were included in the report. 

It is unclear what events caused the accident to happen or what circumstances might have contributed to the wreck. Authorities at the scene did not provide information immediately as to whether one of the drivers was at fault or whether any citations would be issued. The nature of the collision was not described, so it is unclear in what way the vehicles came to collide.

Fox Carolina states that injuries were reported in connection with the accident. It is not clear how many people were injured or to what extent those people were injured. The report did not say whether paramedics transported anyone to a hospital for medical care. No one involved in the wreck was identified in the news article, and the total number of individuals involved was not stated. 

The intersection was blocked off following the crash to allow crews to investigate. Fox Carolina states that the on-scene investigation was concluded about an hour following the accident. South Carolina Highway Patrol Troopers continue to investigate the crash and have not released further information.
