Fatal, Three-Car Accident on S.C. Highway 28 in Oconee County, South Carolina
OCONEE COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA - A news story published on wspa.com reports that a woman was tragically killed and four other people were seriously injured in a three-car accident in Oconee County, South Carolina.*
The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported that the multiple motor vehicle accident occurred on Friday at around 8:50 AM. The crash happened along S.C. Highway 28 at West Union Road.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported that an Acura car was heading southbound along West Union Road. At some point, a Dodge SUV and Toyota pickup truck were heading westbound along S.C. Highway 28. The report states that the Acura was trying to enter onto S.C. Highway 28 from West Union Road when the car collided with the Dodge SUV.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the Dodge SUV was occupied by two children and a 28-year-old woman. The Dodge SUV was then struck by the Toyota pickup one more time. Tragically, the 28-year-old woman passed away at the accident scene. The coroner’s office identified and released the name of the victim.
The operators of the Acura and the Toyota and the two children in the Dodge were transported to Oconee Memorial Hospital. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is proceeding with its investigation of the fatal accident.
