Tragic, Fatal Single-Car Accident in Marlboro County, South Carolina

MARLBORO COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA - A news story published on  wmbfnews.com states that South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers are currently investigating a deadly single-car accident.*

The fatal crash in Marlboro County caused one tragic death and led to one person being severely injured. 

According to South Carolina Highway Patrol Corporal Sonny Collins, the motor vehicle accident occurred at approximately 9:35 in the evening last Wednesday.  The car accident happened on U.S. Highway 15, around eight miles outside of Bennettsville.

The report states that a Ford Explorer was heading southbound and for an unknown reason ran off of the highway and overturned.  The SUV driver was purportedly not wearing a seat belt and was tragically killed in the crash.  Marlboro County Coroner Tim Brown identified the victim as a 24-year-old man from Lynchburg, South Carolina.

Corporal Collins reported that the SUV's passenger was wearing a seat belt was taken to a local area hospital for medical treatment.  The fatal accident is currently under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
