Numerous Fatal Accidents Occur in South Carolina
AIKEN, SOUTH CAROLINA - A news article published on wrdw.com reports that three people were tragically killed and two other people were seriously injured in a series of accidents in South Carolina over the past three days.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported one person was injured in a single-vehicle accident in Aiken County, South Carolina.
The motor vehicle accident occurred at the 1100 block of Powderhouse Road at around 11:15 in the evening, dispatchers stated. The injury victim was transported to a local area hospital. Within the hour, the South Carolina Highway Patrol answered the call to another motor vehicle accident in Edgefield County, South Carolina. That accident tragically killed another person and sent one more individual to a local area hospital.
The severe motor vehicle accident occurred at around 11:20 PM. The report confirmed that a 2016 Hyundai sedan was headed south on South Carolina Highway 23 about 3.6 miles northeast of Edgefield.
A 53-year-old driver lost control of his sedan, left the road, and struck a tree. The driver tragically passed away at the accident scene and the passenger was transported to a local hospital.
Troopers also reported on a tragic, fatal motor vehicle accident that happened on Blewer Road and Legrand Smoak Street in Orangeburg County. Troopers reported that the victim was not wearing a seat belt and was subsequently ejected from the car.
