Alleged DUI Driver Causes Fatal Head-on Collision in Greenville County, SC

GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. – A news story published on wspa.com reports that two people, including a young child, were tragically killed in a car accident in Greenville County, South Carolina.*  The fatal crash occurred last Monday night at 7:55 in the evening. 

According to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, one of the agency's deputies was attempting to stop a suspected drunk driver when the driver sped away and collided head-on with another vehicle.  The driver crossed the center line causing the head-on collision. 

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office reported that the alleged drunk driver also passed away in the collision. 

According to the coroner’s office, the child was rushed to the hospital where she also tragically passed away.  The child was a second-grader at Grove Elementary School.  

No Greenville County Coroner’s Office deputies were harmed during the incident.  The South Carolina Highway Patrol is currently investigating the accident.  No additional details were provided.
