Two Tragically Killed in In S.W. Miami-Dade Crash As Driver Attempted To Flee From Police

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA - The Miami-Dade Police are reporting that a woman and a man were tragically killed in an accident with a Lexus vehicle that was evading law enforcement.*

Miami-Dade Police identified the female victim as a 43-year-old woman.  The other victim was a 23-year-old man who was driving the Lexus.  According to the news article, the female victim was driving a Chevy Trailblazer.  Both people were taken to Jackson South Medical Center, where they both passed away.  

Detective Zabaleta stated that the police chase began at around 6 PM when a marked Miami-Dade police cruiser attempted a traffic stop with the Lexus on U.S. 1 and S.W. 172nd Street.  The Lexus then raced north, and the police cruiser pursued the Lexus.

Detective Alvaro Zabaleta reported that the Lexus struck the Chevy Trailblazer that was traveling south and was turning left on S.W. 152nd Street.  The Lexus T-boned the Chevy Trailblazer causing life-threatening injuries to the driver of the Trailblazer.  She later passed away at the hospital. 

Three men in the Lexus survived the collision, and they were transported to Jackson South Medical Center.  Miami-Dade police detectives will question them accident survivors, and criminal charges are pending.
