South Carolina Highway Patrol Reports on a Fatal Motorcycle Accident on SC-441

August 26, 2021

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– The South Carolina Highway Patrol says a motorcyclist was killed in a collision on SC-441 by US-521 last Friday afternoon.*

According to Master Trooper David Jones, the motorcyclist was driving a Yongfu motorcycle east along SC-441.  The other motor vehicle involved a Honda that was heading westbound along SC-441. South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers stated that the Honda tried to make a left-hand turn onto US-521 when it collided with the motorcycle.

Law enforcement officials stated that the motorcyclist and their passenger were wearing motorcycle helmets, and they were tragically dead at the accident scene.  South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers say the driver of the other vehicle was not hurt.

Robbie Baker, the Sumter County Coroner, reported that the victim was a 27-year-old Dalzell man.  An autopsy was performed at the University of South Carolina.
