Fatal Truck Accident on Philema Road in South Carolina

SOUTH CAROLINA - A news report published on wfxl.com states that a truck driver was involved in a fatal motor vehicle accident along Philema Road.*

The accident tragically killed two people, and the driver of the truck was charged with failure to maintain lane and two counts of homicide by motor vehicle in the second degree.

According to Georgia State Patrol, their troopers say that a Dodge 3500 driven by a 34-year-old man from Hollywood, South Carolina, was heading south in the left traffic lane.  At that time, a 73-year-old woman and her son, a 43-year-old man, were heading north in a Ford Escape in the left lane.

Georgia State Patrol claims that the driver of the Dodge pickup truck ran off the road, over-steered back onto the road, and then entered the traffic lane of the other Ford Escape, colliding into the front quarter panel door area.  The pickup truck was pulling a motor vehicle trailer with a vehicle on it.  The trailer came detached from the pickup truck and landed in the road.

The Dodge pickup truck driver was injured in the crash but not transported for treatment.  The other two people were both tragically killed.  The accident is currently under investigation.
