Tragic, Fatal Accident on a Private in Georgetown County

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA - A news article published on wpde.com says that the South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers reported one person was tragically killed in an accident.* The fatal accident occurred at around 6:30 in the evening along a private road off of Penny Royal Road.  

According to South Carolina Highway Patrol Corporal Matt Southern, the crash happened on a hunting property in Georgetown County, South Carolina.

The news report states that there were six occupants in a Jeep Wrangler that was heading westbound when the driver of the Jeep lost control of the motor vehicle and then overturned.  A passenger in the rear seat was ejected from the Jeep and tragically died.

The Jeep's driver was transported to Grand Strand Medical Center, and the injured passenger was airlifted to MUSC in Charleston for medical treatment. The three other passengers were transported to a local area hospital.  The accident is currently under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
