Fatal Head-on Collision in Kershaw County, South Carolina
LUGOFF, SOUTH CAROLINA - A news article published on wistv.com reports that a woman was tragically killed after her car was struck by another vehicle.* The victim was on her way to work when the accident occurred. The head-on accident occurred on Ridgeway Road at around 6 in the morning, the Kershaw County Coroner's Office verified.
Law enforcement officials stated that the woman was driving from her home located in Camden to her job at MLILY in Ridgeway, South Carolina. She was traveling westbound along Ridgeway Road when a driver in a different car traveling eastbound crossed the centerline into the westbound lanes and then hit her vehicle head-on.
The 55-year-old driver tragically passed away at the accident scene, the coroner reported. The driver of the other motor vehicle was transported to a local area hospital. His medical condition was not provided publicly.
Law enforcement officials stated that both drivers were wearing their seat belts. South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers are currently investigating the fatal accident.
