Two People Are Tragically Kllled in a Tractor-Trailer Truck Accident on I-95 in Dillon County, South Carolina
DILLON COUNTY, SC - A news report published on wmbfnews.com reports that two people were tragically killed in an accident along Interstate 95 in Dillon County, South Carolina.* The accident involved a tractor-trailer truck, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
South Carolina Highway Patrol Master Trooper Brian Lee reported that the fatal accident occurred at around 11:35 AM by Mile Marker 179. The report states that the tractor-trailer truck struck the rear of a Toyota 4-Runner when decreasing traffic speed.
The rear-end collision caused both vehicles to run off the interstate and overturn.
The driver and a passenger who was riding in the Toyota 4-Runner tragically passed away. Another passenger in the Toyota 4-Runner was airlifted to a local hospital, while the tractor-trailer truck driver was also transported to a local area hospital.
There were no further details provided for each of their medical conditions. As of approximately 10:30 PM, traffic lanes were eventually reopened after several hours of road closures.
