Tractor-trailer Accident on Georgetown County Bridge

May 02, 2021

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC - A news report posted on wmbfnews.com states that the South Carolina Highway Patrol reopened traffic lanes along the Georgetown County Bridge after a serious tractor-trailer crash.* Several emergency agencies responded to the accident scene of the two-vehicle accident in the northbound lanes along the bridge over the Pee Dee and Black Rivers in Georgetown, South Carolina.

Law enforcement authorities stated that accident-related injuries were reported in the collision. At one time, all of the northbound lanes were shut down. However, emergency crews decided to reverse one southbound lane to keep traffic moving.

Georgetown County law enforcement officials stated that the tractor-trailer leaked some fuel, and emergency crews were working to clean up the fuel spill. The Coast Guard was also called in to manage any fuel that was released into the water.
