Fatal Head-on Accident in York County, South Carolina

YORK COUNTY, SC - A news report published on heraldonline.com states that one person was tragically killed last Sunday night in a head-on collision in York County, South Carolina.*

According to Master Trooper Gary Miller with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 7:30 PM along with SC 72, also known as Saluda Road, approximately five miles south of Rock Hill.  The scene of the accident near Porter Black Road is north of the Chester County line.

The driver of a Honda car was tragically killed in a collision with a Dodge pickup truck.  The pickup truck driver was not injured, Master Trooper Miller reported.  The York County Coroner's Office stated that they had not identified the pickup truck driver.

The motor vehicle accident remains under investigation by the coroner's office and the South Carolina Department of Public Safety.  According to public safety accident statistics, the fatal crash is the tenth in York County in 2021.
