Tragic Accident Kills a Toddler in Johnston County, North Carolina (NC)
According to a news report on cbs17.com, a toddler was tragically killed after being hit by an automobile in Johnston County, North Carolina. The accident occurred on Sunday afternoon, according to law enforcement officials.*
According to law enforcement authorities in Johnston County, South Carolina, the accident happened at approximately 2:45 p.m. along Massengill Pond Road by Whittington Road, which is nearly two miles east of Angier.
According to Captain Jeff Caldwell from the Johnston County Sheriff's Office, the fatal, tragic accident was a "Total accident. Nothing looks criminal," he added.
The little child, who was struck and run over by an automobile, was unresponsive following the incident, and he passed away.
The Johnston County Sheriff's Office and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the scene.
Captain Jeff Caldwell stated that no criminal charges would be filed in the accident. The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the fatal accident. It is unknown if any criminal charges have been filed.
