Fatal Pedestrian Accident on U.S. Highway 15 in Marlboro County, South Carolina (SC)
According to an online news report published on wmbfnews.com, a pedestrian was hit and killed by a motor vehicle in Marlboro County, South Carolina.*
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol Master Trooper David Jones, the automobile accident occurred around 4:40 a.m. along U.S. Highway 15 close to Shuford Street. The news report states that the victim was walking northbound along the southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 15. The victim was then hit by a Toyota Scion that was heading southbound.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers stated that the driver of the Toyota Scion was not injured because he was wearing a seat belt. The pedestrian accident news report did not disclose the identities of those involved in the accident. The South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers are currently investigating the accident. It is unknown if any criminal charges have been filed against the driver or not.
