Garbage Truck Accident in North Augusta, South Carolina

According to an online news report published on wjbf.com, an accident between an SUV and garbage truck occurred in North Augusta, South Carolina.*

According to the new report, the South Carolina Highway Patrol and officers with North Augusta Department of Public Safety are currently investigating a fatal accident.  The accident killed at least one person.  The accident involved an SUV and a garbage truck and occurred just before 9:30 a.m.  The location of the accident was close to the intersection of Five Notch Road and Caretta Street.

Darryl Ables, the iken County Coroner, stated that he has identified the deceased driver of the SUV as a 25-year-old man.  the victim's name is being witheld in this article.  The victim's body was sent to Newberry for an autopsy.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is conducting the investigation of the fatal accident.  The accident is ongoing. No further information was provided about the accident and those involved the accident.
