Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident on Atomic Road in Beech Island, South Carolina (SC)
According to an online news report published on wjbf.com, the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Aiken County Coroner’s Office are conducting an accident investigation of a fatal motor vehicle accident on Atomic Road in Beech Island, South Carolina.*
The severe motor vehicle accident involved two vehicles and lead to one fatality. The two-vehicle accident occurred at approximately 1:30 in the afternoon on Wednesday. According to the accident news story, a 2017 Freightliner 18-wheeler truck was hauling a box trailer. The tractor-trailer truck was turning northbound along Atomic Road from Sheraton Drive. At that moment, a Chevrolet Tahoe that was heading southbound along Atomic Road struck the side of the tractor-trailer truck.
The victim, a 66-year-old man from Hephzibah was driving the Chevrolet Tahoe. The victim was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision, but the man was tragically pronounced dead at the accident scene. The man tragically succumbed to his blunt force trauma injuries. The victim will be autopsied in Newberry, South Carolina. The Freightliner truck driver was uninjured in the Beech Island intersection accident.
