Three Injured in Crash on Highway 501 in Horry County, South Carolina (SC)

HORRY COUNTY, SC- Wmbfnews.com writes that a crash occurred on Highway 501 this week that left three people with injuries. The crash, which involved multiple vehicles, took place in the Night Owl Lane in the late morning. One of the involved vehicles overturned, and responders had to work to extricate victims from the car.*

One of the injured people suffered severe harm in the collision. The wreck occurred in the morning, and lanes were reopened in the early afternoon. The crash is under investigation, and currently, few details are available about the cause of the incident. 

Rollover crashes are some of the more severe types of accidents that can take place. Oftentimes, these crashes involve SUVs or pickup trucks, both of which are more inclined to roll due to their top-heavy design. Cars are still able to roll over but are much less likely to do so.

About four in ten rollovers involve motorists who were violating the speed limit at the time of the incident. In order to reduce the risks of a rollover crash, it is important to use a seatbelt. Many of the people killed in rollovers died because they were ejected from the rolling automobile- a fate far more likely for those who are unrestrained.
