Tragic, Fatal Accident Involving Several Vehicles in Clayton, South Carolina (SC)
According to a news report published on TheClaytonTribune.com, a couple from Scaly Mountain, North Carolina was tragically killed and three other people were seriously injured in a motor vehicle accident. The motor vehicle accident involved five total vehicles and occurred on Saturday, May 23, 2020, according to the Georgia State Patrol. The multi-vehicle accident happened close to the intersection of Old Highway 441 and Highway 441 in Clayton, Georgia.*
The couple from Scaly Mountain, North Carolina tragically passed away due to the serious injuries they sustained in the crash, according to the Georgia State Patrol. The couple were riding on a Harley Davidson motorcycle. According to the online news report, at around 4:30 p.m., a 22-year-old man from Rabun Gap was heading southbound on Ga. 15 in his 2006 Jeep Commander. The news reports claims the 22-year-old Rabun Gap man failed to maintain his driving lane and his vehicle crossed the center line, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
The accident caused a chain-reaction accident resulting in numerous vehicles being involved in the accident. The 22-year-old Rabun Gap man sustained some injuries and he was ambulances to Mountain Lakes Medical Center in order to receive medical treatment for his injuries. Two other people were injured, according to the Georgia State Patrol. The new report did not report whether or not the additional injury victims received medical attention. The accident is currently under investigation.
