Accident on Papermill Rd. in Florence County, South Carolina, Tragically Kills Two

FLORENCE COUNTY, SC. – According to a news report posted online at wpde.com, an accident that occurred on Papermill Road in Florence County, South Carolina, tragically killed two people. Two other people were injured in the wreck, according to the news report, and authorities are investigating to determine what led to the crash.*

The accident happened during the evening, close to Timberwood Road on Papermill Road. South Carolina Highway Patrol and WPDE report that a vehicle was headed south on Papermill, when the driver somehow lost control. The vehicle exited the roadway on the left, after which it began rolling, according to the report.

The vehicle make and model were not reported, and the events leading to the accident are not known. Investigating authorities did not immediately release information about factors they suspected to be involved in the crash. No other vehicles were involved. 

Four people had been riding in the vehicle at the time of the crash, WPDE states, and all four occupants were ejected during the impact. WPDE reports that two of these people were tragically killed. They were identified as a 22-year-old man from Pamplico, South Carolina, and a 63-year-old man from Pamplico. Troopers indicated that they were not wearing seat belts when the crash happened. 

The other two people from the vehicle were taken to a local hospital for medical treatment. They were not identified in the report, and the extent of their injuries was not listed. They were also not wearing seat belts, Troopers said. 

South Carolina Highway Patrol has not yet completed its investigation of the wreck. No further information about the accident was included in the news story from WPDE.
