Woman and Child Tragically Die in Car Accident
WAKE FOREST, NC – According to an online news report at cbs17.com, a woman from Durham and a young boy who was riding in the same vehicle tragically died in a Wake County accident that occurred over the weekend.*
The accident happened right before noon at the intersection of Moores Pond Road and North Carolina Highway 98, per the North Carolina State Highway Patrol (NCHP).
The accident happened when the boy and the woman were heading north in a vehicle on Moores Pond Road. The vehicle failed to yield the right-of-way at North Carolina Highway 98, as provided by the NCHP. As a result, a vehicle heading westbound on the roadway crashed into the car that contained the boy and the woman. It is not clear whether the woman was operating the vehicle or if someone else was driving.
Due to the impact of the crash, the woman, aged 41, and the boy, aged 6, both from Durham, North Carolina, tragically died in the accident. No other details have been released on the accident.
