Woman Airlifted After Tractor-Trailer Crash in Spartanburg County, South Carolina

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, SC. – According to an online news report posted at foxcarolina.com, a woman was airlifted to a hospital following a tractor-trailer crash that occurred on Compton Bridge Road in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. The woman has not been identified, and authorities are still in the process of investigating the accident.*

The accident happened in the afternoon in the area of Compton Bridge Road and Edwards Road. South Carolina Highway Patrol and Fox Carolina report that around 12:30 p.m., a 2007 Lexus was traveling across Compton Bridge Road and somehow collided with a 2002 Mack log truck. It is not clear what direction the Lexus or the Mack truck had been traveling when the crash occurred. The report says that the truck was not carrying a load at the time. 

The details surrounding the collision have not yet been reported. It is not clear how or why the two vehicles came to crash into each other. Troopers investigating the accident did not immediately give reporters information about the factors potentially involved in the crash. 

Fox Carolina states that the driver of the Lexus was injured in the crash, and emergency crews called in a helicopter to transport her to a local hospital. The name of the hospital where she was taken was not listed in the report. She was not identified by officials. Her injuries were said to be non-life threatening. 

The driver of the Mack truck was also not identified in the report. It is unclear if he or she was injured in the collision. No passengers were said to have been in either of the vehicles when the crash took place. 

South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the accident. At the time the news report was posted to the Fox Carolina website, no further information had been released.
