South Carolina Ranks Sixth in the U.S. for Bad Driving
COLUMBIA, SC— A study recently released by company, Insurify, ranked South Carolina as having a higher car crash accident rate than 43 other states in the United States. Insurify mined data and researched over 2.5 million auto insurance applicants to determine which state has the highest accident rate overall.
The rate of DUI arrests is exceptionally low compared to other states for South Carolina. When ranked by individual category, however, South Carolina is fourth in the country for speeding violations, and seventh in the nation for reckless driving violations.
In South Carolina, Insurify determined around 15.41% of drivers had prior at-fault accidents, 16.52% of drivers had a prior speeding violation, 1.08% of drivers had a prior DUI, and 35 out of 10,000 drivers had a prior reckless driving incident.
