Car Crashes into Apartment Building in Raleigh, North Carolina

RALEIGH, NC. – According to a news story reported online at cbs17.com, a car crashed into an apartment building in Raleigh, North Carolina. The circumstances surrounding the accident have not yet been fully reported, and police are still investigating the incident. The driver has not been identified at this time.*

The accident happened in the late evening at an apartment complex located in the 3800 block of Brentwood Road in Raleigh. Authorities and CBS 17 report that at about 10 p.m., authorities were called to the scene near the new Hope Church Road regarding a collision. Emergency responders arrived to discover that a car had careened into a building at the apartment complex, which is east of Atlantic Avenue. 

The car was described as a white Ford Focus. It apparently ran halfway through a wall of the building before coming to a stop and caused substantial damage to the building. The report indicates that the building the car ran into was the clubhouse. It is not clear how the accident occurred or what factors might have been involved in the collision. 

CBS 17 states that fortunately no one in the car or inside the clubhouse was injured. It is unclear how many people were riding in the car or how many people were inside the clubhouse at the time of the incident. It is also unclear if anyone in the car, including the driver, lived in the complex. The driver of the Ford was not identified in the news story. 

Police officers are still investigating the accident, and limited information has been released about the investigation. The report did not say if the driver was cited or arrested at the scene of the accident or if charges were anticipated. No statement from the apartment complex or management company was included in the report.
