Car Accident Report in Corolla Township, North Carolina
COROLLA TOWNSHIP, N.C. - A news article posted on wvlt.tv reports that the Bristol Virginia Police Department was conducting a search for a missing 17-year-old who left her home in Bristol, Virginia, and then suddenly disappeared.*
Law enforcement officials reported that the teen left her home at approximately 9:45 in the evening.
According to law enforcement officials, the teenager was driving in her Silver Kia Optima that had a Virginia license plate. Bristol Virginia Police Department Detective Sargeant Steven Crawford originally reported that the teenager may have driven to the Pigeon Forge area. However, it was later discovered that the teen was involved in a motor vehicle accident in North Carolina, by the Outer Banks.
The injured teenager was air evacuated to a level one trauma center based in Norfolk, Virginia. She had sustained life-threatening injuries and was not responsive, according to Detective Sargeant Crawford. The accident is under investigation. There has been no update to the teenager's medical condition at this time.
