Fatal Tractor-trailer Truck Accident on I-85 in Anderson County, North Carolina
ANDERSON COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA - A news article published on wyff4.com reports that a tractor-trailer-truck driver was tragically killed on I-85 in Anderson County, South Carolina.* The accident happened when the truck left the interstate and then burst into flames.
The truck accident was called in at around 9 in the morning. The crash occurred in the southbound traffic lanes to be closed. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol's website, the crash occurred by the South Carolina Highway 81 exit at mile marker 28.
South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers stated that the motor vehicle involved in the accident was an International tractor-trailer. Law enforcement officials at the accident scene stated that the 18-wheeler truck went off the road, through a fence, and then struck a power pole. The truck then burst into flames.
The troopers stated that the driver was mechanically removed from the truck's wreckage and tragically died at the accident scene. The coroner identified the driver as a 66-year-old man from Concord, North Carolina.
