Tragic, Fatal Head-on Crash on US 601 in Salisbury, North Carolina
SALISBURY, NC. - A news report published on wcnc.com states that the North Carolina Highway Patrol reported on an accident along U.S. 601 by Young Road in Salisbury, North Carolina.*
U.S. 601 was closed for several hours as the emergency responders worked the fatal accident that tragically killed three people.
At approximately 1:15 in the afternoon, the North Carolina Highway Patrol answered the call concerning a head-on collision affecting two motor vehicles. The report states that a Ford vehicle was heading southbound along US 601 when it passed a car in a no-pass area along a left-hand curve. As the Ford crossed over the double yellow line, it struck another vehicle head-on. The victim's vehicle was progressing northbound along US 601.
Both of the drivers tragically passed away at the accident scene due to fatal accident injuries. The Dodge's passenger passed away later due to their accident injuries. The accident victims' identities were not released to the public, and the accident is currently under investigation.
