City Worker Tragically Killed in Mowing Accident in Washington, North Carolina

WASHINGTON, NC - A news report published on thecoastlandtimes.com states that a city worker was tragically killed in a grass mowing accident, Washinton city officials stated.*

The City Manager, Jonathan Russell, stated that the unnamed worker was mowing a bank along a drainage canal bank behind a couple of businesses.  The accident happened around noon and occurred due to the tractor rolling on top of him.  No further details were given.

City Manager Russell reported that the employee had been a long-time worker and worked for the City of Washinton for eight years.

According to City Manager Russell, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the Washington Police Department, and other agencies is investigating the accident.
