Tragic, Fatal Head-on Accident in Bethany, North Carolina

BETHANY, CT - A news report published on wfsb.com states that one person was tragically killed in a motor vehicle accident that occurred over the weekend in Bethany, North Carolina.*  North Carolina State Police say the collision occurred at around 11 o'clock last Saturday morning at the corner of Valley Road and Amity Road (Rt. 63).

The news story states that a 2012 Jeep Liberty was traveling along Route 63 when the Jeep collided head-on with a Nissan Murano that was traveling in the opposite direction. Both motor vehicles suffered severe heavy front-end damage, and the vehicles were towed from the accident scene.

The Murano's driver, identified as a 42-year-old man from Greensboro, North Carolina, was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital. He tragically passed away from his accident-related injuries.

The Jeep Liberty driver and passenger were also transported to the Yale-New Haven Hospital. North Carolina State Police stated that the driver, a 57-year-old woman, suffered serious injuries, and her 19-year-old passenger also sustained injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to contact the State Police barracks in Bethany, North Carolina. The accident is currently under investigation.
