30 Motor Vehicles Pileup Accident on Interstate 540 in North Carolina

RALEIGH, NC - A news story published on wsoctv.com reports that approximately 30 motor vehicles were involved in a major interstate accident last Friday evening in North Raleigh, North Carolina.* The Interstate 540 multi-car accident closed down several traffic lanes on the interstate by Creedmoor Road in North Raleigh. 

The news story reports that the motor vehicle collision seemed to be a chain-reaction collision. Law enforcement officials did not state whether fog or rain that had moved into the area was a contributing factor in the accident.

Law enforcement authorities have not reported the medical conditions of those involved in the accident. The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the North Carolina Department of Transportation are currently investigating the multi-vehicle accident scene. No additional information was released.
