Tragic, Fatal Motorcycle Accident Near Palmetto Pointe Boulevard in Horry County, South Carolina
NORRY COUNTY, SC - A news story published on wmbfnews.com reports that the South Carolina Highway Patrol is currently investigating a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred early Friday morning.*
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol Master Trooper Brian Lee, the motorcycle crash occurred just after 1 in the morning along US-17 N by Palmetto pointe Boulevard.
Master trooper Brian Lee stated that a Harley Davidson driver had run off the highway along the left side and struck a median, tossing the motorcycle into the roadway. An oncoming Volvo then struck the motorcycle rider, who was purportedly not wearing a motorcycle helmet.
Master trooper Lee stated that the motorcyclist was killed at the accident scene. The victim's name has not been released at this time. The Horry County Corner's Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are currently investigating the motorcycle accident. There were no reports of criminal charges being filed.
