Statesville Woman is Tragically Killed in a Pedestrian Accident on I-77

STATESVILLE, NC - A news story published on statesville.com, a woman was tragically killed in a pedestrian-vehicle accident.*  Initially, the woman was listed in stable medical condition, but unfortunately, her medical condition became worse, and she tragically passed away at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center, according to the North Carolina Highway Patrol.

The victim, a 20-year-old woman from Statesville, North Carolina, was hit by a motor vehicle along Interstate 77 North close to the 38-mile marker.

North Carolina Highway Patrol Master Trooper Jeff Swagger stated in a  news release that the victim was in an argument and exited the vehicle.  The vehicle she was in stooped and allowed her to exit the car.  The victim exited the vehicle and tried to cross the I-77.  The motorist who hit the victim stopped and then contacted 911, the North Carolina Highway Patrol reported.
