Accident Shuts Down I-40 Westbound I-40 Near Clayton Bypass in Clayton, North Carolina (N.C.)
According to an online news report published on cbs17.com, a severe motor vehicle accident occurred on I-40 westbound by the Clayton Bypass in Clayton, North Carolina.*
Traffic was delayed for about one hour as emergency crews worked the scene of the accident. The North Carolina Department of Transportation stated that the collision happened at approximately 3:50 p.m. All westbound lanes along I-40 were closed down as well as one I-40 eastbound lane by the U.S. 70. exit.
Law enforcement was able to open one lane to traffic at 5 o'clock in the evening. The remained of the accident debris was removed, and the roadway was opened at 5:45 p.m. The
