Hit-and-run Pedestrian Accident in Lumberton, North Carolina (NC)

According to an online news report published on robesonian.com, Lumberton Police are asking the public for assistance in identifying and locating a car involved in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident.*

Lumberton Police Department stated that the pedestrian accident injured a 59-year-old man from Lumberton so severely that the man needed to be transported to a local area hospital to save his life.  The man is listed in critical condition.

According to the news article, the victim was riding his bicycle at around 5:52 p.m. on Thursday when he was hit by a motor vehicle.  The Lumberton Police Department stated that the collision happened near Center Street in Lumberton.  The cyclist sustained life-threatening personal injuries and he was transported to a local area hospital.  The victim remains in critical condition.

The driver fled the accident scene before police and first responders arrived.  According to the police, the driver of the motor vehicle may not have been at fault for the collision.  The news article states that the cyclist may have hit the car. 

The car involved the cycling accident was described as a white car and the car may have damage to the front left side of the car.  The Lumberton Police did not provide any further details about the car's make or model.

Accident investigators have not been able to interview Floyd due to the severity of his personal injuries.
