Hit-and-run Pedestrian Accident on N.C. Highway 8 in Lexington, North Carolina

According to a news report published on the-dispatch.com, two people were severely injured in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident in Lexington, North Carolina.*

The Lexington hit-and-run crash with injuries occurred on Friday evening.  According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, law enforcement is searching for the driver who struck two pedestrians who were walking along North Carolina Highway 8 and then sped away from the pedestrian accident scene.

According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the pedestrian accident happened at mourned 8:42 p.m.  The North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to a call stating that there was a pedestrian accident north of City Lake Road on on North Carolina Highway 8.  The hit-and-run motor vehicle has been described as being a white Acrua TSX car with a manufacturing date of 2009 – 2014.  

According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the white Acrua TSX was heading northbound on North Carolina Highway 8 and the driver of the white Acrua TSX struck two pedestrians who were walking along the shoulder of the highway. After the white Acrua TSX hit the two pedestrians, the driver fled the accident scene.

The two pedestrians who were harmed in the hit-and-run pedestrian accident, were taken to Wake Forest University Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  The two pedestrians were later identified as a 40-year-old Lexington man. The 40-year-old victim sustained severe personal injuries.  The second pedestrian struck by the white Acrua TSX was identified as a 46-year-old Winston-Salem man.  This victim sustained non-life threatening injuries.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol is asking those with information about the accident to contact the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
