Man Facing Charges Following Deadly Crash in Rutherford, Tennessee

MURFREESBORO, TN- Amp.dnj.com writes that a man from Murfreesboro is facing charges following a crash that killed one person and injured several others. The incident took place this week on Double Springs Road. The suspect is a 37-year-old man who police have now charged with reckless endangerment, vehicular assault, and vehicular homicide.*

Police say that the victim, a 32-year-old man, died in the evening in a two-vehicle crash caused by the suspect. The victim was in a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado with his four-year-old son and three-year-old daughter when the man drove his vehicle at a high rate of speed into the Chevrolet. 

Police reports now indicate that the suspect was speeding southbound when he crossed into oncoming traffic before colliding with the front of the victim’s pickup truck. The impact caused the Silverado to roll over. The Charger ended up in a ditch on the other side of the roadway. 

While both of the children were fortunately fastened properly in child restraints, the drivers in both vehicles were not. The young children suffered injuries, but both survived the incident.

The driver who caused the incident is being held on a $235,000 bond. 

When a car rolls over in a collision, the risk of a person being killed is relatively high.
