Witnesses Describe Deadly Crash that Killed Two in Youngsville, North Carolina
YOUNGSVILLE, NC- Cbs17.com writes that a head-on crash killed two people and left three others in critical condition. The incident occurred in the evening late last week. A witness near the scene of the event said that the sound of the impact was similar to an explosion and that the ground shook.*
The images from the scene show both vehicles severely damaged from the wreck.
Police reports indicate that a 21-year-old man driving a Volkswagen sedan veered across the center line and struck a Honda operated by a 65-year-old man. The drivers both died at the scene. Two passengers were in the Volkswagen, and both sustained severe injuries, as did one passenger in the Honda.
Neighbors who live near the intersection where the collision occurred on NC 96 say the roadway is dangerous.
