Family of Workplace Accident Victim Seeking Answers
MACON, GA – According to an online news report at 41nbc.com, the family of a workplace accident victim who passed away in an accident is seeking answers.*
The worker tragically died at Nichiha USA in a workplace accident. His family spoke with news outlets earlier this week and assert that they have not received work as to how exactly their loved one died.
“How many people have to die before something is done?” said the family’s attorney. This is the question that the family wants answered by the worker’s employer.
Per the Macon-Bibb County coroner, the 59-year-old worker, a male, died last week after a robotic arm pushed him onto a conveyor belt where he was crushed by the equipment.
The family of the man indicates that “accepting the way he tragically lost his life is not easy.” According to the victim’s daughter, “[h]e was just that father that you would always want. His smile when he walked in the room just brightened up everybody’s day.”
The family wants answers and more clarity as to how the accident occurred that caused the man’s untimely death. They have reached out to Nichiha USA, but thus far, their calls remain unanswered. Reporters also attempted to contact the company but were also unable to reach anyone. The man will be laid to rest this coming weekend during a private service.
There are no further details on the accident at this time. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is currently investigating the accident.
